Depart from Marrakech and head into the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Along the way, visit traditional Berber villages nestled in the hills. Stop at Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and iconic kasbah. After exploring the site, continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Desert.” Visit Kasbah Taourirt and spend the night in a local guesthouse.
After breakfast, travel through the Skoura Oasis and its scenic palm groves. Visit the stunning Amridil Kasbah before heading to the Valley of Roses, famous for its annual rose festival and rosewater production. Continue to the Dades Gorge, where you’ll marvel at the unique rock formations. Enjoy an evening walk through the gorge and overnight in a charming riad.
Begin the day with a visit to the spectacular Todra Gorge, where the towering canyon walls create a dramatic setting. After a leisurely walk through the gorge, journey toward the Sahara Desert, passing small towns and oases. Arrive in Merzouga and prepare for a camel trek across the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. End the day with dinner and a magical night under the stars in a desert camp.
Wake early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, ride your camel back to Merzouga and visit the nearby town of Rissani, known for its traditional market and historical significance. Continue your journey through the volcanic landscapes of Nkob and arrive in Agdz, where you’ll explore the lush Draa Valley. Overnight in a traditional kasbah.
Leave Agdz and head west to the town of Taroudant, often called “Little Marrakech.” Surrounded by red mud walls and vibrant markets, Taroudant offers a quieter glimpse into Moroccan culture. Visit its bustling souks and explore the local craftsmanship. Overnight in a riad within the city walls.
Travel to the Atlantic Coast and arrive in the charming town of Essaouira. Known for its laid-back vibe, whitewashed medina, and blue-painted doors, Essaouira is a perfect coastal retreat. Stroll through the medina, visit the Skala fortress, and enjoy fresh seafood by the harbor. Spend the evening relaxing at a riad.
