Continue to Midelt for a relaxing lunch before driving through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass and along the Ziz River. By afternoon, reach the mesmerizing Merzouga Desert, where you’ll switch to camels for a trek across golden dunes. Pause atop a high dune to witness the magical Sahara sunset before heading to a luxury desert camp. Enjoy Berber drumming, dance around the campfire, and sleep under a canopy of stars.
Start your day with a captivating desert sunrise, followed by breakfast. Ride camels back to Merzouga, where your driver awaits to explore the surrounding region.
Your journey begins with an off-road adventure to an ancient eyeliner mine. Next, visit nomadic families in their traditional woven tents and learn about their fascinating lifestyle over a cup of Berber tea. In Khamlia Village, enjoy live Gnaoua music and dances performed by descendants of sub-Saharan migrants.
After lunch, take a stroll through the lush palm groves and visit the wild Lake of Merzouga, a seasonal haven for flamingos. End the day with dinner and a comfortable night in a Merzouga hotel.
Depart Merzouga after breakfast and stop at Rissani, an ancient trading hub known for its lively market. Explore the bustling souk, especially vibrant on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
Next, head to Erfoud, renowned for its fossilized marble workshops, before continuing through the lush palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. Arrive at the spectacular Todra Gorges, where towering red cliffs create a dramatic canyon ideal for rock climbers. Enjoy lunch and wander through this natural wonder.
The journey continues to the Dades Valley, where you’ll stop to admire the famous “Monkey Fingers” rock formation and panoramic views of the valley. End the day with dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel.
After breakfast, travel to Kalaat M’Gouna, home to Morocco’s famed Rose Valley. This region celebrates its annual Rose Festival in May, offering rose-based products such as perfumes, oils, and cosmetics.
Continue to the palm groves of Skoura, where you’ll visit the historic Kasbah Amridil, a well-preserved fortress showcasing traditional Moroccan architecture. Finally, reach Ouarzazate, often called the “Hollywood of Morocco.” Visit the Taourirt Kasbah and the iconic film studios where blockbuster movies were filmed. Dinner and overnight stay in Ouarzazate.
